This course will focus on the professional philosophies and professional requirements for officiating and coaching sports. This course will provide coaches, and future coaches, the knowledge and understanding of the techniques and theory of coaching interscholastic athletics. Upon completion of the course, students will have the opportunity of taking the fundamentals of coaching certification exam to be eligible to coach multiple sports in the state of Alabama. This course will cover officiating volleyball, football, basketball, soccer, baseball, and softball. Upon completion of the course students will be afforded the option of taking certification exams for any of the sport components and becoming a restricted certified official with the Alabama High School Athletic Association (AHSAA) at the middle/junior high school level.
