This course builds on the medical-surgical nursing concepts in prior nursing courses with emphasis on managing patients with critical complex disorders. Clinical reasoning and clinical judgment are demonstrated. Illness involving but not limited to perfusion, clotting, acid-base, fluid and electrolytes, and oxygenation/gas exchange are addressed in the care and management of these patients including the management of geriatric syndromes.
