The course focuses on professional nursing principles for the promotion, maintenance, and restoration of health for young, middle, and older adults. Contemporary health issues and concerns of these age groups are studied with emphasis on developmental stages, health promotion practices, the impact of illness, spiritual dimensions, and cultural diversity. Selected geriatric syndromes encountered across care settings are also addressed. A multi-sectoral approach is used to study socioeconomics and the ethical and legal issues that affect these adults. This course contains clinicals with didactics.
